Going Green and Clean With Heinz Cleaning Vinegar #HeinzVinegar

By Patricia

I like to think that I live a "green" lifestyle as much as possible. It is important to me to live a life where I care about the earth, and what is happening to it, and how it can be saved for our future generations of children and grandchildren.

So the idea of living a green and healthy life naturally extends to my home and family. After years of using many of the popular but toxic cleaning products, I have switched to non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaners. I now use vinegar for almost all my household cleaning  because it is completely safe, and does a fantastic job for all my cleaning needs.

I recently heard about Heinz Cleaning Vinegar at Walmart, and headed over to buy some. It is made from select sun-ripened grain, and diluted with water to a special strength of 6% acidity, which helps to sanitize and inhibit mold growth and bacteria from surfaces.

My mother used vinegar for all her household cleaning for as long as I can remember. Back when I was a girl, harsh and toxic cleaning products were really the only ones to choose from. She didn't want to expose her family to this, and chose to use vinegar instead. She passed on some great cleaning tips to me on how to use vinegar for cleaning. She would have loved the new Heinz Cleaning Vinegar for sure!

I found the Heinz Cleaning Vinegar in the regular vinegar isle at Walmart. It is sold in one gallon sizes, and at $2.98, it is really a great bargain. It also can be used in place of other harsh or toxic cleaning agents in your home.

Instead of using drain cleaner, my Mom would use vinegar to clean drains and pipes and remove odors by pouring vinegar down them, and then flushing them out with water after an hour. She also cleaned the bathroom walls and tiles with vinegar to sanitize them and prevent any mold growth.

But I think her favorite tip for me is the one about cleaning the toilet! I think this is the worst job, but you pour vinegar in the bowl and let it set for 30 minutes, then sprinkle baking soda in and scrub with the toilet brush. Amazing! It really works, and leaves it sparkling clean. And with the new Heinz Cleaning Vinegar's added strength, the cleaning power of vinegar just increased. My mom would have been a fan of it, I'm sure. #HeinzVinegar

This flower vase was the first thing I cleaned when I got home with my Heinz Cleaning Vinegar. I love green cleaning for so many things in my home, and I knew it would be perfect for this.

I am a big lover of fresh flowers, and I don't usually let them sit in a vase this long and let the vase get this dirty and stinky. Believe me, this was stinky! I filled the vase up with 2/3 water, and 1/3 cleaning vinegar and let it soak for an hour. As you can see, it cleaned up beautifully, and the stinky smell was completely gone.

You can make sure your coffee stays tasting delicious by removing mineral deposits from inside your coffee maker. Just fill the reservoir with 1/2 water and 1/2 Heinz Cleaning Vinegar and run it through a brew cycle, then rinse with 2 brew cycles of water.

I also cleaned my dirty glass coffee pot with water and cleaning vinegar and it's shiny clean now. I bet I will see how much better my coffee will taste when I make the next pot. And it makes me feel good to know I'm using a safe, chemical-free cleaning method in the kitchen.

With grandchildren going in and out of the sliding glass doors all the time, you know they are going to get dirty. I used 1/2 water and 1/2 Heinz Cleaning Vinegar in a spray bottle to get rid of all the dirt and smears. It did a great job on those nasty smudges in the left hand top of this picture.

I love how the windows are so nice and clean without using any of the toxic window cleaning products on the market. And I'm loving not having to buy all kinds of different cleaners when you just need one to do the job.

The before picture here tells the story. My granddaughter ate her lunch and like all babies, she is messy. (But a sweet angel.) Highchairs are always hard to keep really clean because of food smudges and dried on foods. They really need to be wiped down and cleaned often.

I would never use a cleaning agent on a highchair because the babies' food comes in direct contact with the surfaces. But you can see how beautifully clean it got when I used my Heinz Cleaning Vinegar on it. I just wiped it down with a rag soaked in water and cleaning vinegar. It will stay nice and clean until dinner!

My favorite white flower vase is all clean and waiting to be filled with fresh flowers again.
Heinz Cleaning Vinegar is now my cleaner of choice, and I want to tell all my family and friends about it. As I try to live a greener life, using healthy cleaning products and natural cleaners help me do this. I feel very good about using Heinz Cleaning Vinegar to keep me and my family safe, and to make my home clean and fresh.

  1. Wow I haven't seen it before, I read somewhere if you fill up a plastic Baggie and tie around your shower head it will get out everything effortlessly.

  2. It's also good as an air freshener! If you leave a bowl on your counter while cooking, it'll get rid of the odors :)

  3. Drain Cleaning is done through vinegar by adding washing soda in additional .I always use this until a worst scenario comes that causes blockage or makes us compulse to call Drain Cleaners Serviceman.
